mission

ookum is a design house for category-defining editions. each release starts with a signature form from a defining maker, then is rebuilt through exceptional materials, precious-metal hardware, and exacting construction into a closed edition.

what this is

a house, not a storefront. we build closed editions with defining makers and hold each release in a permanent archive.

why it exists

to resist disposable production. output is limited by standard, not by schedule.

how releases qualify

the source form must matter. the maker must be exceptional. the reconstruction must advance the object in clear structural terms.

how scarcity works

editions close by construction limits: materials, capacity, and quality tolerance. scarcity is structural, not theatrical.
